November 29, 1864 - A day that will live infamy

We stop this day to commemorate the Sand Creek Colorado Massacre.

On this date in 1864 a peaceful village of Cheyenne and Arapahoe mostly woman, children and elderly were brutally attacked. Chief Black Kettle raised the American flag and a White flag and believed the attack was a mistake and the good will of the American Government towards him would protect his people. He was wrong. A former Methodist minister John M. Chivington let a militia against these people and killed the woman and children mercilessly.

Our tears cannot bring back the dead we can only hope our tears will bring justice.

O Great God, our Creator remember these your children who died this day. Grant them peace and we will not forget this day and only ask that you forgive us for this tragedy. Bring justice for your children and all the First Nation, Native American people of this land.

The Way Maker

“The Creator loved this world so much He gave us the Chosen One, His own Son and He opens wide His arms to welcome all who place their trust in Him. The Way maker has cleared the path that we may come into His Long House to live with Him happily forever.
